You know how it goes; some days are better than others, you can wake up one morning and think the world is your huge pearly oyster and anything is possible, and other days you have no idea who you are, where your going or if you are at all worthy of all that exists in your life.
Does that mean (dare I say it) you need to undergo a massive Personal Development Operation?
The truth? (in my professional experience) maybe you do, maybe you don't!
If you are reading this page, you have probably already decided that your 'life' could maybe benefit with a bit of an overhaul, recharge or kickstart.
What's in it for you?
Confidence?
Self Worth?
Goals?
Ridding Yourself of Fear?
It's okay (like a lot of people) you perhaps have no idea exactly how to start because you might not be sure what needs repaired (or perhaps you have tried a few things before that haven't really worked.)
A confession: there is no doubt about it, I'm a trainer of Personal and Professional Development (phew, glad I shared that with you)...if you were to ask me 'so, what EXACTLY is it you do'...you know what, I really couldn't give you a straight answer.
Sure I could give you the 'elevator speech' but...
In my 16 years working with people - no TWO people have ever been the same (different problems, needs, wants, wishes, fears, desires, hopes, aspirations all different). Nope, not even TWO!
That really is no surprise, is it?
We are all human, with different views and ideas about the world. Sure I could say I help people run their lives more effectively or choose a career that suits their values, even help people move from employee to entreprenuer.
You know, some of what's 'out there' in the land of Personal Development is fantastic, life changing, taught by amazing people, who walk their talk and really work on behalf of their clients.
In my experience there are many reasons why Personal Development is failing too many people you can read these on this page 'The Biggest Myths' (this article might help you out if you are looking for something that will meet your needs, and want to get it right)
Why is it some days you can be confident in your abilities, skills and knowledge? Days where your self esteem and confidence is flying high? Is it possible to feel like this everyday? Or is it just reserved for the ‘lucky few’ or the ‘handed to them on a plate’ group?
The good news is, you can learn skills, tools and techniques to make this possible – maybe you’ll never always live in a ‘state of ultimate euphoria’, but you can genuinely ENJOY a life full of rewards and happiness.
You catch yourself saying things like ‘oh, I don’t know, I can't, I just wish that…'
’
You are generally happy, most of the time, yet you have times when you have regrets from the past, or you try and improve your life yet it never seems to work out how you thought it would...
You have plans, ideas and dreams about how you would like your life to be, yet you always seem to give up too easily (or when it becomes a little tougher than you thought?)...
You know that you could be destined for greater things (at work, at play, in relationships) yet you haven’t got a clue about where to start...
You are desperate to learn and acquire more knowledge...
You have hobbies and hidden talents that you wish you could use more often...yet, a lack of confidence and self esteem is holding you back?
You have aspirations and dreams you have never admitted to anyone, you know they could work, yet fear and self doubt are holding you back...
(if you happen to understand rocket science, please accept my apologies, I don't yet!)
What can any form of Personal Development do for you? Is it not a lot of hype?
Okay, I understand that, yet, all my personal evidence suggests that with the 'right' type of support and information you can change and grow, if you want to.
Now! Yet, remember alll change takes time. And if you are in a place (I mean emotionally) where you feel that you are going to benefit from any form of Personal Development, give yourself time to explore your options and choices.
