‘Ain’t life funny!
When you buy a sparkly new mobile phone or top of the range television you get with it an instruction manual: full of diagrams, troubleshooting guides and clear explanations of how every little last button works.
But for your life, from the day you were born, you get zilch, nada, nothing.
No clues, no ‘what to do if’ pages or a special number to call if it all goes pear shaped!
Okay, you may get a set of parents, a carer, some ‘adult’ who instructed you what to do, but as you know others manuals can be completely useless for your life.
You got programmed, instructed and conditioned to think this, do that, behave this way by parents, peers, teachers, key players in your life growing up.
You perhaps assumed that their instructions were the right ones?
So you travelled on your way through your life…
School came and went, you entered the world of work, you hung out with friends, maybe went to college, fell in (and perhaps out of love a few times), started work, left jobs, having children might be in the picture.
At what point did you lose your confidence?
Can you remember the day? The event? The moment?
It’s not uncommon.
People dive into careers they hate, build up areas of ‘lack’ (confidence, self esteem, motivation, drive), enter relationships that are toxic, take up bad habits, and then all of sudden they realise they are so unhappy.
But what went wrong?
Most then try to see if there is anything written down anywhere for dealing with the gunk we think about ourselves, or how we can change and turn around shoddy decisions we made, how to stop hurting and feeling useless, worthless and unimportant.
And there’s no shortage.
None. Visit a shelf help section in bookstore. Look at all the workshops available.
You perhaps have read, attended, took part. And are now so lost because nothing has made you feel any better. Maybe you have taken it a step further.
You just want to feel better. Yes?
To feel your life has meaning? That you can face and handle challenges? That it’s rewarding, full of passion and quality relationships.
Okay, What Are The Missing Lessons?
There really aren’t any ‘missing’ as such, we may think there are, you see we all have the capacity, ability and potential to create and carve the life we want.
Don’t believe me?
That’s okay, I understand, you see…
Many people who pass on through this way have dealt with so much of the gunk and junk, they now think or believe they have enough evidence (experiences) that they are resigned to thinking that ‘this is the way my life, career, business, relationships is/are’.
What can we take from that?
We need to create a new set of rules, or instruction manual.
How?
